Sixth Form Expectations
At The Forest Sixth Form, we set high expectations for all our students. As a forward-thinking and supportive environment, we expect students to work diligently, show respect and politeness to others, and actively participate in enrichment and extracurricular opportunities.
Dress code: At Forest6 we have a casual business wear dress code.
Sixth Form is a fantastic stepping stone between school and the world of work or university. It offers a well-rounded experience that balances academic effort, personal development, and social interaction.
Timetable and Attendance Expectations
Students have 15 timetabled lessons across a two-week cycle. If students do not have a scheduled lesson during Periods 1 and 2, they are expected to remain on site for independent study or mentoring sessions.
When students have a free period during Period 3, they may leave the site at 1:30pm as part of our Flexi-time policy. However, Flexi-time is a privilege based on sound attendance, punctuality, and academic progress.
All students are expected to arrive by 8:35am, ready for the first lesson at 8:40am, and must attend daily tutor sessions in which we cover PSHE, RS and Careers. While an early start can be challenging for some, we’ve found that productivity is significantly higher in the mornings, and it helps students develop habits that will benefit them in higher education and employment.
Why Choose Forest Sixth?
Our structured approach, balancing lessons, study periods, and free time sets us apart from many colleges where unsupervised time is the norm. Students at Forest Sixth Form benefit from close monitoring and ongoing support from staff, ensuring they stay on track while still enjoying independence.
This supportive environment also fosters strong friendships, builds confidence, and gives students invaluable access to dedicated staff for careers and university guidance. It’s this balance of structure, freedom, and pastoral care that makes Forest Sixth a popular choice for those serious about their future.
