DT&Engineering students vist Silverstone

Lucky students in Years 9&10 had a great trip to the Silverstone museum in Towcester to discover all about F1 design, technology and engineering. 

They immersed themselves in the history of the circuit and the racing that took place there.  They even took to the circuit themselves completing 5 laps using the Scaletrix model.

Students were also able to see historic and modern F1 racing cars up close, checking out engines, tyres and pipes.  The afternoon sessions allowed students to get up close and personal with the track and take part in a workshop showing how F1 cars are designed and manufactured. 

Truly a great trip to support their subject knowledge.
