Ofsted Inspection Report (9th and 10th December 2025)

The inspection process, conducted under the renewed Ofsted framework introduced in November 2025 and in accordance with Section 5 of the Education Act 2005, was thorough and comprehensive and, we are justly very proud of our school, students, staff and parents.

  • ‘Pupils blossom in this happy and welcoming school.  They attend school regularly and behave well.  Pupils feel safe.’
  • ‘Leaders are proud of the successful transition they have made from being a single-sex to a mixed school.  This change has been well managed and has further strengthened the school’s inclusive culture.’
  • ‘Pupils are highly considerate of others and of the impact that kind words and actions can have in building a harmonious society.’
  • ‘Pupils have positive attitudes to their education.  Pupils enjoy learning and the broad range of subjects that are available to them.  They have high aspirations and understand the importance of working hard.’
  • Pupils receive thorough and helpful careers advice throughout the school.  Staff ensure that pupils access detailed guidance about future pathways.’
  • ‘Staff are knowledgeable about the pupils they teach and any barriers to learning they may have.  As a result, they provide helpful adaptations where needed to ensure that pupils can access their learning.’
  • ‘Teachers know their subjects well.  They teach in a way that enthuses pupils and captures their interest.’
  • ‘Leaders understand the context of their school extremely well.  They are committed to ensuring that there is an ambitious and inclusive culture where all pupils ‘Aspire to become Elite.’
  • ‘Pupils value their education and recognise how leaders and staff support them to become the best versions of themselves.’
  • ‘Leaders are accurate in their assessment of their strengths of the school and where they need to continue to work to improve standards.’

It appears under the renewed framework parents survey and comments are not highlighted in the report.  I would like to thank all of our parents for the overwhelming number of responses to the survey which included written texts that I was made aware of during the inspection feedback meetings.  On speaking to some of you since the inspection, many have kindly shared your original messages with me, as under the renewed Ofsted framework we are no longer able to access or view the written comments directly.  I am fully aware that as parents you have been instrumental in supporting our vision where every  child may ‘Aspire to become Elite.’

During the inspection the overwhelming support and kind words sent from our parent community shows that we are family and in this together.  In addition, every child spoken to was overwhelmingly positive to our visitors about their life here at The Forest.  This is clearly evidenced in the report where it is noted that ‘pupils are highly courteous in their interactions with staff and visitors.’  This statement alone again embeds the amazing young ladies and gentlemen that we are developing in partnership with our Forest families.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. Over the past nine years, since I joined The Forest School, we have worked tirelessly to realise a shared vision of excellence and embed our ‘Aspire to become Elite’ ethos throughout the school and beyond. The unwavering support, commitment, and determination of our staff, students, parents, and trustees have been instrumental in this success. Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey.

Let us celebrate this milestone together! The Forest School continues to nurture aspirational, prepared, independent, respectful, and excellent young people who are proud of their school and achievements.
