Rashmeet Kaur
I'm currently in Year 12 at Forest6 studying Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry.
I'm a New Nighthawk!
My best Forest memories...
... aren't just the big events, but the moments that brought us together as a Sixth Form community. One experience that really stands out is the Chemistry Analysts Challenge. Competing against other schools was exciting, but what made it special was the journey itself. We spent time solving problems together, supporting one another, and getting to know both our teammates and teachers beyond the classroom. The teamwork within our group was incredible, and I'm genuinely proud of how well we worked together and what we achieved.
Another memory I'll always cherish is Culture Day. It was amazing to see so many students proudly representing their cultures and sharing a part of their identity with others. What stood out most was how united our Sixth Form felt despite our diversity. There was such a positive atmosphere throughout the day, and whether we were taking photos, trying different things, or simply spending time together, it was a celebration of the community we had built.
I also have very fond memories of tutor time with my former tutor. Those sessions were much more than just part of the timetable. They were a space where everyone felt comfortable sharing their opinions, discussing different perspectives, and debating a wide range of topics. What made it so enjoyable was that everyone participated, and every conversation brought something new to learn. There was always a sense of respect, curiosity, and humour, which made those discussions genuinely memorable.
My top tip(s) for current students is...
...Sixth form will feel long when you're in it, but trust me, it'll be over before you realise. Don't spend all your time worrying about grades or what everyone else is doing - everyone is special on their own and different. Don't forget to use your independent study time wisely! Work hard, but make memories too and sit with your friends at lunch, go to the events, take photos, and enjoy the little moments alongside studying. One day you'll look back and realise those ordinary days became some of your favourite memories. Make the most of every opportunity, make contacts because you don't get these two years back! Give it your all and I promise it will be worth it in the end.
