Years 7, 8 & 9 get running....

13th October 2021

Students in Years 7, 8 & 9 came together with other schools at Highdown this month for the first Cross Country run of the season.

Our Year 7 runners ran in the twenties and did well to do so as their stride length was perhaps half of most running from other schools in a field of 50.  They demonstrated great sportsmanship.

Years 8 & 9 ran together with great heart.  Matthew Rudd (Yr8) crossing the line with the quickest run and placed twenty fifth in a combined field of approximately 60 runners.  Maddox Gillas (Yr9) continued his Ovett vs Coe duel with another strong runner where the pair have pushed each other all the way.  A slightly stronger sprint finish just pipped Maddox into second spot.  Such a gentleman, he thanked the organiser as he crossed the line and went straight up to the victor and said well done.  Ethan Lobato (Yr9) pushed hard all the way and came in at a highly respectable ninth place.  The rest of our boys finished in the middle of the group again giving it their all.

All the boys were a credit to our school and literally tried their hearts out - a proud Forest moment.
